Mumbai: Shiv Sena workers demand airport name to be changed to Chhatrapati Shivaji ‘Maharaj’ International Airport

Shiv Sena protest , Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport , Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport , mumbai airport ,
Shiv Sena workers protested today outside Mumbai’s domestic airport to change its name from Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport.
Many people were seen protesting with banners and posters at the Airport, police was trying to control the situation.
A while ago Shiv Sena had demanded addition of Maharaj to CST (Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus)to show respect to Shivaji and after many protests CST’s name was changed to CSMT which is Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus.
The Assembly resolution also recommended adding Maharaj in the name of Chhatrapti Shivaji International Airport (CSIA). Which was earlier known as the Sahar International Airport, while the railway station was called Victoria Terminus.
