The notification has been issued for the post of Principal, TGT, PGT, PRT, Librarian and Vice-Principal on the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) official website- kvsangathan.nic.in.

New Delhi: A cordon of tight security, including NSG snipers, elite SWAT commandos, kite catchers, over 500 CCTV cameras and thousands of security personnel, have been thrown around the Red Fort, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the nation on the 72nd Independence Day on Wednesday.

Police are on high alert in the wake of an in the Lutyens' Delhi area on Monday and a on Tuesday, where a man drove a car at high speed and ploughed into several pedestrians, injuring three people, a senior police officer said.

On Monday, police were informed by a person that a man, wearing a uniform of an Indian Air Force officer, was suspiciously roaming near the Rajiv Chowk Metro station, and when he tried to call him, the man in uniform just fled from there.

"This year, intelligence agencies have not issued any specific alerts about any specific terror organisation planning to target the national capital. However, the threat is there from all terror outfits and we have to be alert, especially during this time," a senior police officer said.

While nearly 70,000 Delhi Police personnel are guarding the national capital, close to 10,000 cops have been deployed in the Mughal-era fort, which will see the presence of senior ministers, top bureaucrats, foreign dignitaries and common people during the PM's address on Wednesday.

Delhi Police personnel have been specifically asked to keep an eye on the sky to ensure that no stray kites are seen in the areas around the Red Fort.

Last year, when the Prime Minister was addressing the nation on Independence Day, a black kite had landed below the podium. The kite landed quietly without causing any disturbance and the prime minister had continued his address unfazed.

Kite-catchers have been deployed even though kite-flying has been restricted in the area till 11 am.

Over 500 CCTV cameras have been installed on the routes leading to the Red Fort with over 200 cameras in the fort itself. The footage is being monitored round the clock, police said.

This time, 36 women personnel of the Delhi Police Special Weapons And Tactics (SWAT) unit will also be guarding the venue with their male counterparts.

Police have already carried out anti-sabotage checks in the area and visited hotels in the vicinity in search of suspicious elements, officials said, adding that a security audit of the residents, including tenants, has been completed.

At the Red Fort, a special team of NSG snipers and commandos will form the inner layer of the security cordon, while anti-aircraft guns have been deployed to thwart any aerial intrusion by objects like drones and projectiles, senior police officials said.

Delhi Police has already prohibited aerial activities, including para-gliding, flying UAVs and hot air balloons, across the city.

The buildings facing the Red Fort will be secured by police and paramilitary personnel.

Security along the route to be taken by the Prime Minister's cavalcade, from his official residence to the Red Fort, will be monitored with the help of hundreds of CCTV cameras.

Special "spotters" of Delhi Police and the paramilitary will keep an eye on parking areas. Sniffer dogs will also be part of the extensive security deployment.

According to a statement by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation, train services will run as usual. However, stations like Lal Quila, Jama Masjid, Delhi Gate and ITO will have restrictions on entry and exit during the ceremony owing to security considerations.

Parking will not be available at the stations till 2 pm tomorrow in view of the security measures, the DMRC said.

AHMEDABAD: Poachers around Nalsarovar have struck upon a new modus operandi: With forest officials being on the lookout for nets, they are now using kites to snag and injure Nalsarovar’s winged visitors, and then sell or eat them. “This is new for Nalsarovar, where poachers used nets in the past. Killing of birds using kite strings has been reported from Saurashtra, especially to bring down cranes, but this was not known in Nalsarovar area,” said a senior officer of the forest department.
Forest officials said that after frequent kite flying (which usually takes place around Uttarayan) was observed in Dharji village, inquiry revealed that kites were being flown to snag birds. After gathering sure details, range forest officer, Dr Bhavesh Patel, raided the area with his team on Wednesday and found four persons engaged in poaching.
Officials said the poachers fled on seeing the forest department team, but one Vahanbhai Kamsubhai, who is a resident of Dharji, was apprehended.
The foresters saved three greater flamingos and one purple moorhen. Two other birds including a greater flamingo and a painted stork were found critically injured and were sent to the rescue centre at Van Chetana in Ahmedabad.
SJ Pandit, deputy conservator of forests, said, “Their modus operandi involved flying multiple kites with sharp strings, while one of them would scare the birds to take off. During flight the birds got snagged in the kite strings and were injured. The poachers then collected the injured birds and used to eat them.”
In the past birds were shooed and caught in nets tied to the banks of the lake. Chief conservator of forest, Mahesh Singh, said, “We are concerned with poaching in the only Ramsar site in the state and have asked the home department to sanction a permanent SRP company for patrolling.”
Singh added, “Our division covers Ahmedabad and Surendranagar districts and the size of the territory calls for additional forces, if it is to be properly monitored.”

For the first time in the history of India's police force, New Delhi's security against terrorism is going to be in the hands of an all-womenSpecial Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team.

This is not the only good news. All the 36 members of this SWAT team are women constables from the North-East.

The idea to create an all-women SWAT team was conceived by Delhi Police Commissioner Amulya Patnaik. While 13 members are from Assam, rest of the members hail from Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim and Manipur, 5 from each.

Speaking to the TOI, Patnaik said:

These women are second to none when it comes to handling terror strikes and hostage crisis in urban areas. In fact, they were rated better than their male counterparts by their trainers at Police Training College in Jharoda Kalan.

These women, armed withMP5 submachine guns and Glock 21 pistols, have received a 15-month specialized training of the Israeli Krav Maga- an unarmed combat style. They're also capable of climbing multi-storey buildings and carrying out rescue operations in places like hotels, metro and buses.

They will be posted at high-risk and strategic locations in central and south-Delhiand will also be in charge of maintaining security at India Gate & Red Fort.

These warrior cops, as reported by the TOI, are experts in ambush and counter-ambush, jungle operations, urban operations and VVIP security. They also hold a basic knowledge of explosives and IEDs and are adept at using an array of weapons.

Telling about the agility & expertise of these cops, one of their trainers told theTOI:

Experts at abseiling and scaling, they can spring from deep sleep to action, fully armed within a minute of an alarm. Not only have they mixed well with personnel from other parts of the country, there's an amazing mix of cultures on display at the academy at present.

The celebrations for the 72nd Independence day will be held at New Delhi's Red Fort. Special traffic arrangements and restrictions imposed in the national capital starting Monday.

To maintain vigil, the Delhi police has installed additional CCTV cameras, especially at major markets of the national capital. Security has been beefed up across the city following intel reports of terrorist attacks on August 15.

Security has also been tightened at other major points in various states, including Assam and Punjab. In Amritsar, police are undertaking stringent security check at railway stations, bus stands, and hotels.

Our soldiers give away their lives for us without expecting anything in return. Neither do we bother to take care of them and their families as our moral responsibility. Even our government does so little for them. A perfect example to this is the sad reality of a Kargil Hero Satbir Singh who was ready to give away his life for our country but our nation didn’t give back anything in return.

Satbir Singh is a veteran of the Rajputana Rifles who got disabled after enemies fired in his right leg during Kargil. After the disability, he took voluntary retirement. The papers show that he was entitled to get the ownership of a petrol pump and one-acre land by the government. However, he runs a juice shop in Delhi to serve his family.


In talk with Indiatimes, the 53-year-old veteran said that he served as an Indian Army soldier in Srinagar for about eight and a half year. He told about how his brothers-in-arms lost their lives in Kargil in 1999 and he also got several injuries. He could barely walk after this.

He consulted private, government and army doctors. And all of them advised him not to get an artificial limb as it causes problem. He told, “First, they have to wear proper socks then tie it properly. It is a cumbersome process. During monsoon and summer seasons, the prosthetic limb sometimes leads to blisters and pockmarks which bothers them a lot.”


He further told that families of those who attained martyrdom were given compensation by the government. However, he was not given anything. He said, “Due to my injury I was in the hospital for a long time and nobody was there in my family who would look after. Kisi ke bacho ko naukri mil gayi, kisi ki biwi ko naukri mil gayi, kisi ko gas agency, kisi ko kheti karne ke liye zameen de di gayi.”

He told that he had to live with a pension of Rs 4,000 per month (as of year 2000). Currently, he is getting Rs 23,000 per month as pension.

He said that he had also approached the Army headquarters and filled a form for the acquirement of a petrol pump which he was entitled to get. He told, “Samvidhaan ke anusaar,1999-2000 mein ye niyam tha ki yudh mein ghayal fauji ko zameen ka ek tukda dekar sammaanit kiya jaayega.”

After his constant efforts, the Central Government took action to allot him a one acre land and a petrol pump. But his application was buried in paperwork for about four and a half year. He was later given the land on which he did farming. However, four years later, this land was also taken away from him.

He said that he was promised Rs 40,332/month pension along with education for his children. He says, “I am getting only half the amount as pension and no education fee for my children.”

And now, he has to run a juice shop in a village to serve his family. He said, “I barely, earn Rs 500 per day through this business. In the past 20 years, I have worked as a vegetable seller, farmer, electrician and at construction sites to earn a living.”


He further added, “I have all the documents ready. I was threatened several times that I should continue with my life as it is else, I shall face dire consequences. But I am not scared and I want to make sure that any other soldier doesn’t have to suffer the same ordeal.”

New Delhi: In a most bizarre turn of events, a 32-year-old man has been arrested for trying to sell his second wife to a brothel in the national capital. To his disadvantage, he ended up walking into a trap laid by Station House Officer (SHO), Kamla Market.

A resident of Araria in Bihar, Saddam Hussein had two wives. He reportedly got married to his second wife, a beautiful 28-year-old owing to her good looks. However, the same good looks ended up becoming the bane of his existence. Everywhere they went, people kept staring at his wife which angered Saddam who got into fights more often than one can imagine. According to Times of India, one such incident occurred on August 1 when he got into an argument with a man who was constantly staring at his wife. Enraged, Saddam decided to kill his beautiful wife and bought a knife the very same day.

As the night passed, Saddam changed his mind and thought it would benefit him more to sell his wife to a brothel in Delhi. He told his wife that he had booked the tickets for them to visit her parents in the national capital. Unaware of his plans, his wife readily agreed and the couple hopped on an overnight train to Delhi.

Upon reaching the capital city, Saddam began making inquiries about pimps and brothels. Luckily for his wife, he ended up connecting with a pimp who was working as an informer for Kamla Market SHO, Sunil Kumar. The police officer decided to lay down a trap for Saddam and started a dialogue with him, acting as the buyer.

A team of police personnel led by Kumar summoned Saddam to a common meeting spot for the exchange. However, he did not bring his wife along the first time around and demanded an advance. The policemen then paid him Rs 10,000 out of the Rs 1.2 lakh they had fixed for his wife. As soon as Saddam got his wife to the exchange, the police arrested him on the spot. Clueless about her husband's plans for her, Saddam's wife is currently being looked after by counsellors.

Officers of the Kerala Fire and Rescue Department could be seen rescuing people from low-lying residential areas using boats as water has entered their houses in Pathalam in Ernakulam.

Around 951 people have been rehabilitated in the Paravur Taluk district as the low-lying residential areas like Pathalam Eloor have been submerged in water.

Heavy rain has created havoc in Kerala and created a trail of destruction across the southern state. Twenty people have been killed in rain-related incidents so far. Of the total deaths, 11 people were killed in a massive landslide in high range Idukki, six in northern Malappuram district, two others in Kannur and one in Wayanad district since last night. Two persons were pulled out alive from the debris by the locals and police, they said.

With water levels rising in various dams and reaching almost its maximum capacity, shutters of at least 22 reservoirs in the state have been opened to drain out excess water.

For the first time in the last 26 years, a shutter of the Cheruthoni dam of the Idukki reservoir, considered the biggest arch dam in Asia, was opened by noon on Thursday with the water level touching 2,398.98 ft. The full reservoir level (FRL) of the dam is 2,403 ft. Four shutters of the Idamalayar dam in Kochi district were opened on Thursday morning.

Calling the flood situation in the state "very grim", Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan it was for the first time in the history of the state that 22 dams have been opened at a time following the water level reaching its maximum capacity.

He said an assistance of Army, Navy and Coast Guard has been sought and six more columns of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) had been requested to be deployed in the flood-hit areas.

"The flood has caused large-scale damage across the state. Water levels in rivers are on the rise. Thus, there is a need to open the shutters of many dams," the chief minister said.

The deployment of Navy helicopter has been sought for the rescue of those stranded in the remote areas of Wayanad district, he said. The Left leader added the services of Army and NDRF had also been sought in the worst-hit Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad and Idukki districts.

A 24x7 monitoring cell has been set up at the Secretariat to coordinate the relief works with various district collectors. Educational institutions have declared a holiday in Idukki, Kollam and other districts of the state.

Trivandrum: The resurgent monsoon in Kerala has become a worry than relief for locals. With rains lashing the state, the dams and reservoirs have reached to their full capacity, forcing the authorities to open the shutters.

Rescue operations are underway with Southwest monsoon triggering flash floods and landslides in the state.


As water levels rise in various dams and reach almost their maximum capacity, shutters of at least 24 reservoirs in Kerala have been opened to drain out excess water.

All five sluice gates of the Idukki reservoir were released today to release excess water.


More than 10,000 people have been shifted to 157 relief camps across the state in the last two days, the government said.
The armymen evacuated 30 stranded tourists in Munnar to safety.


Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan described the situation as “very grim” with army columns being deployed at Ayannkulu, Idukki and Wayanad.

The army, navy, air force and the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) are already engaged in rescue and relief operations in the worst affected districts.

Wayanad district was completely cut off by landslides and the army personnel were pressed into service to restore road network in the hill district.

The ongoing trade war between US and China has enough potential to adversely impact the Indian farmers.

On Tuesday, Donald Trump-led US administration announced that the country will move towards imposition of 25 percent tariffs on additional billion in imports from China.
The ongoing trade war between US and China has enough potential to adversely impact the Indian farmers as they would find it challenging to export their agricultural produce in such a scenario. The hike in tariffs is also likely to put pressure on the the growth of global economy, that is currently doing well, Microsoft founder Bill Gates told CNBC TV18. The global trade war is scary and can even affect chances of job creation, Bill Gates added. We can end up with lots of tariffs which can put a lot of burden on the economic growth, and the poorest countries would be the most affected, he added.

On Tuesday, Donald Trump-led US administration announced that the country will move towards imposition of 25 percent tariffs on additional $16 billion in imports from China. The office of the US Trade Representative told AP that collection of border tax will begin August 23 by the custom officials. The list issued would be heavy on industrial items such as iron girders and steam turbines. In the month of April, Donald Trump-led US authorities announced plans to impose tariffs on 1,333 Chinese items worth $50 billion a year.

However, the authorities slashes 515 products from the list in the month of June and added 284 on receiving feedback from public.  It was on July 6 that the US started imposing taxes on 818 goods worth $34 billion, which were remaining from the April list.

US has finally decided on Tuesday to move ahead with taxes on 279 of the 284 items which were added in the month of June. They amount to a worth about $16 billion per year. China is retaliating in the similar way.

The US administration is mulling over tariffs of up to 25 percent on a extra $200 billion in Chinese items.

New Delhi, Aug 3: The National Investigation Agency on Friday filed a chargesheet against four persons in connection with the escape of Lashkar-e-Tayiba terrorist Naveed Jutt from the Sringar hospital.

The NIA chargesheeted Mohammad Tika Kha, Shakeel Ahmad Bhat, Syed Tajmul Islam Kirmani and Mohammad Shafi Wani. Jutt it ay be recalled had escaped after attacking a police escort party on February 6 2018, when he was being taken for medical examination at the Shri Maharaja Hari Singh Hospital in Srinagar. Two police personnel were killed in the incident.

The NIA found that it was a well planned criminal conspiracy. Investigation revealed that the accused conducted meetings in the Central Jail, Srinagar on different dates before the incident and a comprehensive plan was made to effect the escape Jutt.

As per the plan, the accused conducted a detailed recce of the SMHS Hospital as well as routes to be followed before and after the action. They also arranged vehicles and weapons to be used in execution of the plan. During investigation, accused the four persons mentioned in chargesheet were arrested.

Jutt alias Abu Hanzalla is still absconding. Further investigation is still on.

Just months ahead of the upcoming general elections, RBI’s survey measuring consumer confidence in the month of June spells a bad news for the Modi government. Even though consumer confidence shows signs of improvement in the June 2018, with the current situation index (CSI) climbing by 2.8 points, it remained in the pessimistic zone as the future expectations index (FEI) recorded a marginal fall, RBI survey recorded. The June 2018 round of RBI Consumer Confidence Survey (CCS) shows that just 48.2 percent respondents believe the economic conditions are going to improve in the next one year.

While 24.1 percent people say that the conditions will remain same, 27.7 percent think that economic conditions will worsen. On income front, the respondents are slightly less optimistic than in the last round of the survey in May 2018. Only 49.8 percent of the respondents believe their incomes will rise after a year. While 49.1 percent expect their employment prospects will improve after 12 months, 24.4 percent say employment prospects will worsen, 26.5 percent say things will remain same.

The households continue to remain pessimistic about prices, with sentiments on both the current and future periods declining slightly, the survey showed.  The respondents of the survey were marginally less optimistic about their income than in the preceding round of the survey. “Most of the respondents reported household spending over the past year with their sentiments ticking up for both the current period and over the year ahead,” the survey records.

The Consumer Confidence Survey survey was conducted by the RBI in six metropolitan cities  namely Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai and New Delhi and obtained 5,264 responses on households’ perceptions and expectations on the general economic situation, the employment scenario, the overall price situation and their own income and spending.

The chief minister was speaking at an event where an announcement of a defence corridor encompassing the Aligarh, Agra, Kanpur, Lucknow, Jhansi and Chitrakoot corridor was made.

Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, her deputy in the ministry Subhash Bhamre, Uttar Pradesh Industries Minister Satish Mahanadi and senior officials of the defence ministry and Uttar Pradesh government were present at the event. "I request the defence minister to hold the Aero India show in Uttar Pradesh. We will provide every type of facility. In this context, I request her to announce this at the earliest so that we can proceed with the preparations," Adityanath said.

Bengaluru has been the host city for the event since its inception in 1996. The last Aero India show was held in February last year. Reports claimed that the event might take place in Uttar Pradesh's capital city of Lucknow in November-December this year.?

The defence minister, however, made no announcements in this regard.

New Delhi: Bombay High court on Tuesday rejected gangster Abu Salem's plea for a parole to get married to his girlfriend/ reported wife Sayed Bahar Kausar. The gangster, who has been convicted in the 1993 serial blast, had sought 45-day leave to get married to 27-year-old Kausar. The gangster reportedly married the Mumbra woman in a running train when he was on his way to Lucknow for a court hearing in 2014.

Bahar had threatened to commit suicide claiming that her image had been maligned due to her association with Salem and said that she had no option but to make their marriage formal. "We have got a letter stating Salem wants a 45-day parole to get married on 5 May. We are looking into the matter,” Parambir Singh, Thane police commissioner was quoted as saying by Hindustan Times in April. The Police had rejected the plea.

According to a report in Mid Day, Kausar, a wannabe actress, met Salem in Mumbai's Taloja Jail. While he promised to give her a break in the film industry through his Bollywood contacts, the two reportedly fell in love during their meetings in the jail. In 2017, a special TADA court convicted Salem and five others and awarded life sentence to Salem for conspiracy to commit terror offences.

Salem and Kauser were under scanner about two years ago, when photographs, showing them together, were leaked to a newspaper. In fact, Kauser reportedly accompanied Salem during his trials in Delhi and Lucknow.

The Assembly resolution also recommended adding Maharaj in the name of Chhatrapti Shivaji International Airport (CSIA). Which was earlier known as the Sahar International Airport, while the railway station was called Victoria Terminus.

Karunanidhi's death reminded one of the violence that followed the death of another former chief minister MG Ramachandran.

Even before the death of DMK supremo and former Tamil Nadu chief minister M Karunanidhi yesterday (August 8), there were fears of violence and unrest throughout the state.

Karunanidhi's death reminded one of the violence that followed the death of another former chief minister MG Ramachandran.

This was the reason why the Tamil Nadu government took measures to maintain law and order in the aftermath of Karunanidhi's death.

However, the people of Tamil Nadu seem to have matured over the years.

The situation was by and large peaceful when former CM J Jayalalithaa died on December 5, 2016, and it has remained calm after Karunanidhi's death.


Though MG Ramachandran died on December 24, 1987, of cardiac arrest, he had been suffering from kidney-related ailments for about three years. He was diagnosed with kidney failure in October 1984.

He was rushed to the US for treatment for a kidney transplant. He returned to Chennai on February 4, 1985.

However, at least 13 diehard fans of the matinee idol immolated themselves out of their love for him. Some cut themselves with razor-blades in a mass hysteria during this period.

On a daily basis, hundreds of telegrams were sent to MGR, with people praying for him or offering their kidneys to him.

In some cases, MGR's fans issued threats of dire consequences if the doctors did not rescue their "God". One telegram told the Apollo doctors that the sender would not eat till they told him that MGR was safe. Another, from a doctor, offered his brain to the chief minister, said an India Today report.

The situation was worse when MGR died on December 24, 1987. The heart of state had stopped. Normal life was paralysed for two days.

The violence that followed left 29 people dead and 47 police personnel badly bruised. Moreover, 30 followers committed suicide. Several fans had their heads tonsured.

"Shops were closed, essential supplies were cut off, vehicular transport ground to a halt and passengers were stranded at railway stations and the airport. (The then) vice president SD Sharma was stuck at the airport for three hours," said another India Today archive report.

As the news of MGR's death spread, Chennai (then called Madras) succumbed to grief and anarchy. His supporters pelted stones, burnt buses, uprooted road dividers, looted shops and set them on fire.

They even attempted to damage statues of MGR's arch political foe Karunanidhi.

AIADMK supporters made several comments in a state of despondency. They said, "Why should Madras survive when MGR has gone?... The world will never see another leader like MGR... With MGR dead, what is the use of us living?"


Jayalalithaa passed away on December 5, 2016, at the age of 68.

With memories of violence after MGR's death not having faded, there were apprehensions of similar incidents when Jayalalithaa died on December 5, 2016, after remaining in hospital for 75 days.

The police and administration made elaborate arrangements to meet any such eventualities.

Though there was no violence, AIADMK claimed that 77 people died of grief and shock after having to come to know of Jayalalithaa's illness and death.

However, a central intelligence estimate has put the toll at 30 besides four suicide attempts.

There was some chaos outside Apollo Hospital where Jayalalithaa was hospitalised when premature reports emerged that she had died and the AIADMK flag was flown at half-mast in the party headquarters in the evening of December 5.

Some barricades were smashed. However, the situation was brought under control after news came that Jayalalithaa was still alive.

Jayalalithaa breathed her last at 11.30 pm.

As against apprehensions, her death was accepted by her supporters and Tamil Nadu and Chennai remained by and large peaceful.

M KARUNANIDHI

Even though Jayalalithaa's death did not witness violence on a scale comparable to that of her mentor MGR, the Tamil Nadu police left no stone unturned to ensure peace in the state.

Yesterday, even before Karunanidhi died, the state shut down early.

As a precautionary measure, educational institutions and private companies were shut. The children and employees were asked to leave their premises before closing hours.

In Chennai, local bus services were suspended soon after his death.

The Madras High Court on Wednesday announced that DMK Chief M Karunanidhi can be buried at Chennai’s Marina Beach.

After hearing the High Court’s order, Karunanidhi’s son MK Stalin broke down while the DMK chief’s supporters celebrated outside the court and the Rajaji Hall, where his mortal remains have been kept.


On Tuesday, the DMK filed a plea in the court after state government denied burial space for Karunanidhi near Anna Memorial at Marina beach owing to pending petitions against burial on Marina beach. Karunanidhi breathed his last on Tuesday at Chennai’s Kauvery Hospital. His funeral will be held with full state honours.

Srinagar, Aug 7: After martyrdom of four army soldiers in a fierce gunfight along the LoC in Gurez sector of north Kashmir's Bandipora district in the wee hours of Tuesday, Army has rushed Para commandos to the site. The elite commandos have now joined the operation. An Indian Army Major and three soldiers were martyred in a gun battle that also left two militants dead on Tuesday when an incursion bid from Pakistan was foiled on the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir, a defence official said.
Defence Ministry spokesman Colonel Rajesh Kalia said a group of militants tried to infiltrate to this side of the LoC in Bandipora's Gurez sector, some 180 km north of Srinagar.
"They were challenged when they were seen attempting to infiltrate into our side of the LoC. In the ensuing encounter, two terrorists were killed while two others are still trapped in the cordon laid around them.
"Four soldiers including a major and three other ranks were martyred in this operation," Kalia said.

Those martyred are Maj. Kaustob Rane r/o Thane, Maharashtra, Rifleman Hamir Singh r/o Uttarkashi, Uttarakhand, Rifleman Mandeep Singh r/o Kotduar, Uttarakhand and Rifleman Vikramjeet Singh r/o Yamunanagar, haryana. All the martyred are from 36 RR.

The spokesman said the militants were given cover fire by the Pakistan Army by resorting to ceasefire violation to divert the attention of the troops on the LoC.

It has been nearly two months since Indian Army soldier Rifleman Aurangzeb who was leaving for home in Poonch to celebrate Eid was abducted and killed by terrorists. As the grief over his brutal murder tuned into anger, some 50 youths from his village who were working in Saudi Arabia have returned home with one aim - to avenge his killing.

According to NDTV they are now volunteering to enlist himself in the Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police.

"When we heard about the killing of brother Aurangzeb, we left Saudi Arabia the same day, and forcibly got ourselves relieved from the job. It can't be done on the spot, but we managed somehow. 50 youth from this village returned with me.  The only mission is to avenge the death of Aurangzeb", Mohammad Kiramat who came back from Saudi Arabia told NDTV.

Aurangzeb, a rifleman with 4 Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry, was killed by suspected terrorists, for his 'crime' of joining the Indian Army.

He was reportedly targeted as he was a close aide of an army officer who led the team that killed Sameer Tiger and part of the team that carried out the encounter that killed the hardcore Hizbul militant.

Aurangzeb hailed from a family which had history of serving the Indian Army, where his father Mohammad Haneef, is an ex-Indian army man, while his eldest son Mohammad Qasim is a serving army personnel and two of Aurangzeb's younger brothers had cleared the tests to join the forces.

मानसून के आखिरी दो महीने में सामान्य बारिश होने की संभावना है। भारत मौसम विज्ञान विभाग (आईएमडी) ने शुक्रवार को जारी अपने अनुमान में कहा कि अगस्त और सितंबर महीने में देशभर में 95 फीसदी बारिश होने की संभावना है। हालांकि इसमें आठ फीसदी कम या ज्यादा होने की संभावना बनी रहती है।

मौसम विभाग की माने तो उत्तराखंड, मध्यप्रदेश, असम,बिहार,उत्तरप्रदेश, छत्तीसगढ़ में अगले 2 दिन भारी बारिश के आसार है


लखनऊ मौसम विभाग के निदेशक जे.पी गुप्ता के अनुसार, दिन में रुक-रुककर तेज बारिश होती रहेगी। अगले 48 घंटों के दौरान लखनऊ एवं पूर्वांचल के कई जिलों में भारी बारिश होगी।

उत्तर प्रदेश मौसम विभाग के निदेशक जेपी गुप्ता के अनुसार, अगले दो-तीन दिनों में कई जिलों में भारी बारिश होने का अनुमान है.


बारिश ने पिछले पांच वर्षो का रिकॉर्ड तोड़ दिया है. तापमान में तीन से चार डिग्री सेल्सियस तक की कमी आने का अनुमान है. पूर्वांचल में भी भारी बारिश होने की संभावना है. वहीं बिहार की राजधानी पटना सहित राज्य के कई हिस्सों में हो रही बारिश के बाद शुक्रवार को मौसम सुहावना बना हुआ है. बारिश के कारण तापमान में गिरावट दर्ज की गई है

मिथिलेश देवांगन, राजनांदगांव। दो मुट्ठी चावल और दो रुपए से शुरू किया गया स्वसहायता समूह आज 13 हजार छोटे-बड़े समूहों का रूप ले चुका है। दो लाख से अधिक महिलाएं इससे जुड़ी हुई हैं, जो 25 करोड़ रुपये की बचत कर चुकी हैं। इस अभियान की शुरुआत की थी एक चरवाहे की बेटी ने।


दो मुट्ठी चावल और दो रुपए से शुरू किया था स्वसहायता समूह
राजनांदगांव, छत्तीसगढ़ के वन्यक्षेत्र छुरिया में रहने वाली फुलबासन यादव को इस योगदान के लिए पद्मश्री जैसे नागरिक अलंकरण से नवाजा चुका है। गरीबी की मार झेलते साधनहीन अशिक्षित आदिवासी परिवारों को आर्थिक उन्नति की राह पर लाने के अलावा फुलबासन के प्रयासों का सुपरिणाम है कि वनांचल के पांच सौ से अधिक गांवों में शराबबंदी हो चुकी है।
फुलबासन का बचपन घोर अभावों में बीता। पिता के पास कोई साधन न था। चरवाहे के रूप में परिवार का गुजारा होता। शादी के बाद ससुराल गईं तो वहां भी गरीबी से ही सामना हुआ। दस साल की उम्र में ही शादी हो गई थी और बीस की होते-होते चार बच्चे भी हो गए। गरीबी हर पल ललकारती थी। ऐसे में उन्होंने बकरी पाल कर अल्प बचत शुरू की।
वे देखती थीं कि गांव में ऐसी कई महिलाएं हैं, जो उनकी तरह ही जीवन में संघर्ष कर रही हैं। ऐसे में विचार आया कि क्यों न उन्हें साथ लेकर कुछ ऐसा किया जाए, जिससे सभी को कुछ आर्थिक लाभ हो। साल 2001 में उन्होंने मां बम्लेश्वरी स्वसहायता समूह का गठन किया। फुलबासन द्वारा बोया गया बचत का वह बीज आज विशाल वट वृक्ष बन चुका है। समूह के खाते में जमा 25 करोड़ रुपए से अधिक की राशि का उपयोग महिलाओं को आत्मनिर्भर बनाने के मदों में किया जाता है।
फुलबासन बताती हैं, अब जिमीकंद की खेती से महिलाओं को जोड़ा जा रहा है। जैविक उत्पादन के साथ ही डेयरी व्यवसाय भी उन्हें मुहैया कराया जा रहा है। अचार, पापड़, बरी जैसे घरेलू खाद्य बनाकर भी समूह को खासी आय होती है। आज छत्तीसगढ़ के करीब तीन सौ स्टालों पर बम्लेश्वरी ब्रांड के विभिन्न उत्पाद बेचे जा रहे हैं।


भारत सरकार द्वारा 2012 में पद्मश्री से नवाजी जाने वाली फुलबासन यादव को समाजसेवा और महिला सशक्तीकरण से जुड़े अनेक सम्मान हासिल हो चुके हैं। इनमें जमुनालाल बजाज, स्त्रीशक्ति और एसआर जिंदल अवार्ड जैसे पुरस्कार शामिल हैं। छत्तीसगढ़ सरकार ने उन्हें शराबबंदी और महिला सशक्तीकरण के लिए अपना ब्रांड एंबेसडर भी बनाया है।
